EO-3: A Palatable Marine Omega-3 Supplement for Horses

Kentucky Equine Research EO-3 delivers DHA and EPA omega-3 fatty acids in a tasty liquid form designed for horses of all ages and activity levels. By supplementing the diet with marine-derived omega-3s, EO-3 helps improve the overall balance between omega-3 and omega-6 fats, which many riders and caretakers consider important for a well-rounded daily feed. The product is suitable for foals, broodmares, and performance horses, offering a versatile option to support ongoing dietary goals without altering existing routines.

In everyday use, EO-3 may influence how the horse’s body responds to training and daily exercise. While individual results vary, some riders notice an ongoing impression of steadier energy management and a smoother inflammatory balance after adding marine omega-3s to feed. Research across species has explored connections between DHA/EPA intake and cardiovascular health, reproductive performance, and bone development, underscoring the potential benefits of long-chain marine fats. This is presented as a possibility to support a coachable, consistent feeding plan rather than a guaranteed outcome.

Key benefits you may notice

• Potential improvements in glucose tolerance and immune function may support daily conditioning.
• Greater red blood cell flexibility can contribute to respiratory efficiency during work or riding.
• Bone metabolism and development may be supported by the marine omega-3 profile.
• Reproductive potential benefits for breeding stallions, and for pregnant and lactating mares are noted in broader research contexts.
• DHA and EPA act as precursors to local signaling molecules, with marine sources often used efficiently in the body compared with some plant-based fats.

What to expect when using EO-3

• A palatable liquid that blends with most feeds, making daily dosing straightforward for many horses.
• Designed for all classes of horses, including growing foals and athletic adults, with dosing tailored to work level.
• Careful feeding directions help riders ramp up gradually to the desired daily amount.

Feeding directions and practical tips
